Summer
Greetings!
I
love this time of year. The days are longer so training
twice daily doesn't seem like a chore, barbequing
is a daily thing, ensuring healthy food and the weather
is perfect (well, I live in San Diego, so the weather
is always perfect...)
Speaking
of which, I just bought a beach house in San Diego
and with these longer days, I have time to squeeze
in fun homeowner things like yardwork & painting....

Muscle
Camp 2002 - Just got back from Muscle
Camp in Vegas and it was awesome! Shawn Ray did
an excellent job - camp attendees had personal &
quality time with the best of the best. From Flex
to Shawn to Mike (+ Lee, DJ, Dexter, Chris, Skip,
& Kevin) to myself, there was easily 80+ years
of collective experience shared with the "campers."
After a full morning of hand-on training instruction,
we had a no-holds barred Q & A session, followed
by a night on the town. Shawn is bringing Muscle Camp
to Detroit next March and if you didn't get a chance
to join us this time, DON'T MISS OUT on the next one!

Athlete News - I am pleased to announce my resigning
with Weider and am thrilled with all the great
things the company is doing to promote its athletes
and bodybuilding. Watch for more and more appearances
I'll be doing in the industry:

Appearances/Marvel Comics - I've been selected
to appear on The
Best Damn Sports Show on Fox SportsNet hosted
by Tom Arnold. What a great opportunity to showcase
bodybuilding on a national show. I'll be filming this
with fellow standout IFBB Pros Shawn
Ray and Craig
Titus. We don't know the airing date, but stay
tuned to my site for details. Also, don't
miss the airing of the 2002 Arnold Classic by Physical
TV on TNN! August 10 at 4 pm E.T./P.T.
and 3 pm C.T./M.T. And, I am pleased to announce
I was recently selected to model for superhero characters
that will appear in Marvel Comics. As a die-hard X-Men
fan, this is re-living my childhood!
The
USA in Las Vegas (July 26-27) is almost here.
This show has great meaning to me since it was both
my first national level show (in 1996 when I placed
in the top 5 and Craig Titus won) and the show through
which I garnered my pro card in 1999 as the Heavyweight
champ. I plan to be there to cheer on the next rank
of rookie pros. Guys to watch out for are Troy Alves
and Idrise Ward-El. Best of luck to everyone competing.
I'll be autographing photos at the ABB booth. Come
by and say hello if you venture to Vegas. That's all
